Since LCD Soundsystem di㊟㊟anded, the members have had to find creative fulfilment elsewhere, and for drummer Pat Mahoney, this has meant Museum of Love. This duo, which also features Dennis McNany, will release their self-titled debut album on August 19 via DFA Records.

Mahoney and McNany are longtime associates through DFA. McNany — who sometimes performs as Jay Dee and handled most of the album's songwriting, production and instrumentation — described their collaboration like this: "We've been friends for a long time and we dug what each other did. So naturally we sat around and talked about books and the history of the world and then we made some jams."

Mahoney performed the vocals and drums, and the two edited and arranged together in the studio.

They took their name from a Daniel Johnston song, and other influences include Roxy Music, John Cale, Harry Nilsson, Love, Arthur Russell, Paul McCartney, Robert Wyatt, Sly & the Family Stone, Public Enemy, Fleetwood Mac and the Ying Yang Twins.
